This exposure is half a second long, handheld. Levels tweaked in post. I took a number of shots that night at such slow shutter speeds, ussually took two or three for good measure, and mostly got pretty good results.

All thanks to a Canon lens with Image Stabilizer... the 17-85mm EFS IS USM. For the kind of wandering I like to do, this lens is fantastic. Biggest complaint is heavy barreling at 17mm end.

Porteau Cove at 1:00am. Had to hand stitch this one, Autostitch got confused.

Had to shoot on ISO1600 because I didn't have a stop watch to time a bulb exposure, but all I got was underexposed grain. So... crap in = crap out. Had to throw levels way out of whack and degrain to get anything discenrable out of these pictures.

This is a dome in real life. The clouds on the right were actually horizontal. I just rotated the camera as i took shots along the edge, and then Autostitch warped every picture to flatten the curve of the dome.

Ooops, forgot to post this guy from November. He was in the Bird Sanctuary (on Dollarton, towards Deep Cove) with his harem of four and another buddy. They let you wander between them as close as about 4 meters.
